Retorno/ Return

In one of my first walks by the Finnish forests I found what then would accompany me during the entire period of residence, a branch that I displace on the head from one of the towers of birds to the workspace. There it stayed next to my desk, I was tempted to displace it with me back to Spain but instead I decided to return it to its place, but it was not the same, either than I.

I perform various actions in which several thoughts appear and I realize that I can apply it to my relationship with the world. Move, join, feel, intervene, turn, return are all transitive verbs in my life. When I pick up the branch and make the first trip I note:

  • During the journey I learn to go giving away, I carry the branch but I also follow it, otherwise it falls.
  • To move it becomes an extension of my body, thus the senses vary, for example when it touches another branch and the sound moves through it until it get to my.
  • The space sense increase, as well as from my body, time disappears.
  • I recommend it.

From the first action there is no more registration than my memory and Word. During the last week of residency at the study performed a new action, first cover the branch with red trapillo, then turn getting the branch to follow my move and go over from the vertical to the horizontal.

The penultimate day performed the last action: return the branch to its place. This time Isabel Leon accompanied me, partner with who I was developing the project EXCHANGE Live Art during the residency, thanks to her there are these and other images.
